The program is downloaded to your web server and requires a mysql database and the ability to run cron jobs. If you are not a techie SendStudio will install the program for you - for free. The autoresponder is very easy to setup. Our install of the new version had a number of bugs, but each was quickly addressed by support. In fact, the support provided is excellent and prompt. SendStudio autoresponder also has an active support forum. The autoresponder works by creating a mailing list, and then messages via autoresponder or by newsletter are created for the mailing list. Messages can be in html or text format, or both. One strange feature is that messages to be sent in the future are scheduled by the hour, not the day. Thus, a message to be sent in two days is scheduled to be sent in 48 hours. This autoresponder does not quite match-up with the top of the line autoresponders available for a monthly fee, but it is getting close. In the long run this autoresponder is less expensive due to the one-time purchase. For autoresponders installed on your server SendStudio is the best option available. |
